Honorary Environmental Standards Certified Professional (H-ESCP)
Environmental Standards Certification Scheme (ESCP) awards those highly qualified environmental professionals who have permanently ceased remunerative employment as an environmental practitioner. This certification pathway will exempt these individuals from the examination application but Interview. The H-ESCP status provides recognition to eligible Environmental Professionals who may be retiring or transitioning from full-time practice or professional activities and creates an opportunity for them to continue to participate, stay informed and contribute to the Scheme’s ongoing operation. The Certification Board only has the prerogative of awarding this category to all persons.
Pre-Requisite
- Proven experience and judgment
- Proven track record of contribution to Environmental Standards and related domains.
- Contributions to National Development
- Ability to show proof of contribution to Environmental Standards and related domains.
- Evidence of related professional associations meetings, seminars, conferences attended.
- Evidence of serving as a mentor to Foundation ESCPs.
- Evidence of application of case management approach to address complex environmental issues
Target Audience

Professional who are approved for H-ESCP status will:
- be able to use the honorary title of H-ESCP
- have their profile featured on the ESCP Registry
- not be required to meet continuing professional development requirements.
- not incur any renewal or other administrative fees
- remain in the Scheme’s mailing list
- be eligible to contribute to a range of volunteer opportunities in support of the Scheme
However, as this is an honorary status, H-ESCP holder will:
- not be able to represent, in any way, that they currently hold ESCP and (where applicable) specialist certification
- not be able to sign on Government reports as is required for some specialist certification categories
